Falling in love can be a royal pain.

A cocktail of sex, booze and breakneck speeds is what sends Prince Henry of Benignus into rehab. He’s expecting to skip out on lectures and smoke behind the shed.
He’s not expecting Carleigh.

Carleigh Phillips knows Henry is trouble. His bad boy attitude reeks of self-importance and over-indulgence. She’s not expecting him to lift a royal finger during his time at the ranch.

She’s not expecting him to be a threat to her heart.

When Carleigh’s life is on the line, will Prince Henry step up to the plate? Or will he prove he really is nothing but a phony royal pain?

~ 5/5 Roses! ~

*I was given an eARC copy of this book, from the author's publisher (Entranced Publishing), to read in exchange for an honest review.

I signed up to do a book tour for Entranced Publishing.  The tour is for "Royal Pain" by author and cupcake-wars-wannabe Danielle Doolittle.  My first thoughts about reading and reviewing this book were "K, romantic comedy, sweet cover, could be good.  I always like a book with a bad-boy prince."  I had to prepare the author's dream cast and extra materials before reading the ARC, so I had more info to go on than a book I'd normally read.  I don't usually like doing that, but eh, that's what comes with book tours, right?

Ok, so here are my thoughts on this book:

~Cover: Cute!  I love horses, and the couple hiding behind flowers is really cute.  It's definitely one that draws me in, and makes me want to know who the people hiding behind the petals are (curiosity, lol, gotta love it).

~Characters: Oh my gosh I love these characters!  Carleigh is so funny, I love her red-head personality!  She's feisty, strong, has a wicked tongue on her, and isn't afraid to be blunt and honest (even to a Prince).  Ah, the prince.  *sigh*  Does anyone else love stories with a Prince?  I do...I grew up with Disney Princesses though, so it makes sense :)  Henry is a fun Prince character to follow.  I found myself reacting to him quite similarly to Carleigh- wanting to both laugh and smack him at the same time.  His quips were funny, but his denial about his own issues was frustrating.  Luckily for them both, Carleigh snaps him out of it with her honesty and bravery.

~The ending: Oh wow, the ending!!  What an ending!!  It's like, emotional drama all the way through the first 3/4 of the book.  Then the last few chapters hit, and it's like "Adrenaline rush!!"  Ryan being psychotic was so scary, esp when he was in the barn with Carleigh.  I was mentally screaming for her to knee him in the nads and get out of there.  I totally had to stop and remind my self to breath again when Henry saved her- that was totally awesome!!

Then of course, the "I'm gonna kill you" scene with Ryan and Henry...O.M.G.!!!  Psychopath with TWO guns, oh my gosh!  I had no idea how Henry would get away from Ryan, when he was all

Such a great ending though, and they had an eventual happily ever after, which every good romance needs.

~Writing/Author: Danielle Doolittle is a very good writer, and I really enjoyed her style.  She had lots of humor, angst, suspense, and twists that made me want to keep flipping pages to see what would happen next.

~Disliked: My only complaint really, would be the back and forth between both Henry and Carleigh, with their "I love you, but I can't have you!"  It was ok for at first, but after while I found myself thinking "Oh my gosh, just get together already!"  In the end though, it really did show the self growth of the two characters, and made it so that their relationship was strong.  They were both sure of not only their love for each other, but the fact that the other one did indeed love them.  Necessary for the plot, so I didn't take off roses for it, although that was one thing that I disliked.

~Overall: I really enjoyed this book.  I was only at 4 star level of entertained, until the last 3 or 4 chapters.  Those though, they kicked it on up to 5 stars, and made it a book I want to read again.

What do you guys think about this book?  Does it sound like something you'd want to read?

If you want to check out the book playlist, excerpt (which is funny), detailed character info, and the author's dream cast, head on over to my post on Desert Rose Reviews PluggedIn.

Thanks for reading!
